UMinhoTech

The UMinhoTech is a network of institutions for research and technology development (R&TD), acting as agents for transference of fundamental research between the University of Minho research laboratories (Portugal) and the companies and institutions seeking for innovation in their products and services.This network of institutions constitutes a strategic interaction between the University of Minho and its socioeconomic environment.As a network, the UMinhoTech members explore their complementarities in terms of competences, areas of applied research and market sectors. Such complementarity potentiates the universe and widening of solutions and responses to the challenges presented by the industry and other  economic and social institutions.The UMinhoTech members develop their activities in Portugal, but also at international level, pursuing a strategy of internationalization.

The network members are:

  • CCG – Center for Computer GraphicsWith 25 years of existence, the CCG´s principal activity is the applied research and development, in the fields of computer graphics, information systems, communication and Electronic technologies, as well as to their application at national and international level(www.ccg.pt).

  • CVR-Centre for Waste ValorizationIs a nonprofit institution that offers research, scientific analysis and actual application services in the waste valorization area. Regardless of the industrial activity, CVR has the necessary expertise to support projects and initiatives related to the management of a wide variety of industrial waste streams (www.cvresiduos.pt).

  • PIEP – Center for Innovation in Polymer EngineeringInstitution of reference for innovation in engineering of polymers, both for national and international industry, in sectors as the production of plastics components applied for aeronautics, footwear production, car manufacturing, electronics, transports, etc, contributing to realize new ideas, sustainable economic development and industrial competitiveness (www.piep.pt).

  • TecMinhoIts main mission is the promotion of university connection to society, especially in the areas of science and technology, contributing to regional development by improving thecompetitiveness of organizations and increase the skills of individuals. There are three main lines of action: Continuing Training, Technology Transfer and University Entrepreneurship (www.tecminho.uminho.pt)
