UCL Great Ormond Street Institute of Child Health
The UCL Great Ormond Street Institute of Child Health (GOS ICH) which, together with its clinical partner Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children (GOSH), forms the largest concentration of children's health research in Europe. Our mission is to improve the health and wellbeing of children, and the adults they will become, through world-class research, education and public engagement.
The academic strategy of Institute focusses on five scientific research and teaching departments and a number of strategic initiatives. The programmes are guided by four key underpinning principles: interdisciplinarity; accelerating translation; developing academic leaders and; national and international partnership and leadership.
We work with a range of global partners across the public, private and third sectors.
Our research has local, national and worldwide impact on policy making, clinical guideline development and health service configuration. Developments such as gene and cell therapy, combinations of personalised cell and immunotherapy, genomic medicine-supported patient stratification, and medicines for rare diseases provide new opportunities and the opportunity for collaborations at the interface between research and industry.
