Skokie United

The Juneteenth Planning Committee is a collective of dedicated partners from across Skokie, united to honor and celebrate the rich history and ongoing legacy of Juneteenth. Representatives from Skokie United, Skokie Public Library, Village of Skokie, Skokie Park District Skokie Morton Grove and local schools including School District 69, District 219, work collaboratively to curate meaningful, educational, and joyful events for the entire community.

Our shared mission is to create inclusive spaces that foster reflection, celebration, and connection, ensuring Juneteenth not only commemorates freedom, but also brings our diverse community together in the spirit of unity, equity, and hope for the future.
