Richa has dedicated many years of her life to serving others through movement and building communities. She has been dedicated to promoting the benefits of movement and physical health through dance for individuals of all ages, including children, adults, and seniors. She is passionate about helping others feel comfortable in their bodies, experience joy through movement and expression, and discover a deeper connection to themselves.
As a self-taught dancer, she understands the importance of learning to move with comfort and confidence at any age. Richa loves to unite people through the shared experience of dance and movement, creating non-judgmental environments where everyone feels comfortable, valued, and included.
Richa's love of music and rhythm developed from an early age and the soulful rhythm of the drums has always been close to her heart as she learnt how to play the Tabla and dreamed of playing the steel drums. As an adult she is currently learning the tongue drum, and has trained with Arts & Healing Initiative's Beat the Odds program to facilitate Drum circles. She aims to create both fun and inclusive environments where people feel connectivity through drumming, releasing stress, and creating sound together.
Additionally, her experiences with mental health issues with her family and friends, her personal experiences with anxiety, separation from a long-term marriage, becoming a single mother of two young children, and co-parenting have given her a unique sensitivity and empathy towards others, and provided her with valuable insight into recognizing difficulties and challenging patterns, accepting loss, managing complex situations, and being open to change.
