Rahman 4 Judge

Qawi Abdul-Rahman, Esq.

Qawi Abdul Rahman was born July 13, 1969, on the Plattsburgh Air Force Base in Plattsburgh, New York, where his father was stationed. Being the child of a service man, Mr. Rahman was engrained at an early age with a sense of loyalty, duty, and honor to family and country that laid the foundation for the man he would become.

Mr. Rahman’s family relocated to the Richard Allen Homes located in North Philadelphia when he was a child. Growing up in the Richard Allen Homes Mr. Rahman developed a deep sense of community as he matriculated through the Philadelphia school system, eventually graduating from the Walter B. Saul High School of Agriculture and Science. Although he was given the nickname “Esquire,” by a family member, Mr. Rahman had his sights set on a career in Veterinarian Medicine. Upon graduating high school Mr. Rahman initially attended the University of Delaware, before transferring to Cheyney University of Pennsylvania where he would receive the Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science.

When Mr. Rahman transferred to Cheyney University he switched his major to political science due to a newfound ambition of becoming an attorney after watching the injustices suffered by the people of his community. Upon graduating from Cheyney he attended the St. Thomas School of Law, in Miami Florida. After working in the Dade County Public Defender’s Office Mr. Rahman returned home to Philadelphia to fulfill a promise he made to himself of serving the people in his community. With 25 years of legal experience, Mr. Rahman effectively serves his community and in 2018 he received the First Judicial District of Pennsylvania Pro Bono Publico Award.
