About Nick Tran
Combat Veteran. Refugee. American Fighter.
I was born in South Vietnam. When Saigon fell, my father and I escaped with nothing but the clothes on our backs. We fled a Communist regime that crushed freedom, punished faith, and tore families apart. America took us in when we had nowhere else to go.
Growing up in America was a constant reminder of what freedom really means. I learned early that liberty is not guaranteed. It must be defended, protected, and passed on. That belief led me to enlist in the United States Army.
I served for more than a decade and deployed to three different wars. Those years taught me everything I know about courage, sacrifice, and brotherhood. I saw what real leadership looks like. It is not about speeches or politics. It is about service. When you are responsible for the lives of others, you learn that leadership is about duty, not self-interest.
When I came home, I brought that same mindset into civilian life. I worked full-time, raised a family, and used my GI Bill to earn my degree before graduating from Harvard Business School. I wanted to keep contributing, to build, to provide, and to give back.
That calling led me into the oil and gas industry, where I spent more than a decade. I saw firsthand how American energy fuels our economy, independence, and national security. I helped create veteran-hiring programs that gave hundreds of former service members a new mission and a sense of purpose.
I also saw how Washington’s waste, bureaucracy, and endless regulations hurt families and small businesses. Politicians keep growing government while Texans are the ones paying for it.
I came to this country with nothing and built a life through hard work, faith, and perseverance. I have served on the front lines of war and in the heart of America’s energy industry, and I know what makes this country strong. It is not government. It is people, families, and freedom.
That is why I am running. Not to join the political class, but to stand between it and the people it is supposed to serve.
I fought for freedom overseas. Now I am fighting for it here at home.
