Dr Giles Yeates is a clinical neuropsychologist with 20 years’ experience in community neuro-rehabilitation, working in leading international centres of clinical excellence. His key interests have been the innovation and adaptation of psychological therapies for people with neurological conditions and is the editor of the series and series for Routledge. He has published numerous articles, book chapters and books on these topics. Dr Yeates has been invited around the world as a keynote speaker and trainer on these areas.
In addition, Dr Yeates is a tai chi and kung fu instructor, and has been practicing martial arts for 18 years. He has trained with the Daoist monks in Wudang mountain in China, and now teaches this tradition to the general public in Oxford. He has linked tai chi and qi gong with neuro-rehabilitation and psychological practice in his current NHS and private work (www.neuro-flowgroup.com).
Dr Yeates is a Visiting Fellow at the Centre of Movement, Occupational and Rehabilitation Research at Oxford Brookes University, where he collaborates with physiotherapy and rehabilitation academics to evaluate and study new movement interventions for people with neurological conditions.
