Jaye Marsh – The Wild Flute
Jaye Marsh is a recording artist and currently principal flutist with the Peterborough Symphony Orchestra as well as a freelance flutist, playing with orchestras across Ontario. She has appeared as a soloist with numerous ensembles including the Summerhill Orchestra, Kindred Spirits Orchestra and Hart House Chamber Orchestra. Highlights of a freelance career include opening for Evanessence and playing principal flute for the Cirque Musica orchestra.
In addition to orchestral music she has created numerous solo and chamber recitals throughout Ontario, is a founding member of the neofolk group Aphrodite Unbound, and has appeared as a flute soloist on videos and recordings, from indie pop to film scores. Jaye recently released her debut album of new Canadian commissions called ‘Flute in the Wild,’ a project supported by the Canada Council for the Arts, Ontario Arts Council, and FACTOR.
Jaye is also a graphic designer (masquerading as The Red Scribbler), a writer, an editor, an illustrator, and a pioneer of eco-friendly events and lives with her husband and two boys in a small house in Toronto, Canada.
