JCPAA is located in the heart of Milwaukee’s downtown Performing Arts community, lower level of the historic Plankinton Building at 161 W. Wisconsin Avenue. Since 2010, The downtown studio offers an extensive array of dance, theatre, music, and visual arts for students of all ages! JCPAA’s Performing Arts Studio is Milwaukee’s addition to the artistic talent that is a part of downtown’s performing arts community.
Our mission is to strengthen youth and young adults through exposure to the arts, provide opportunities for creative expression, and by providing opportunities for youth to explore their creativity and talents through the arts. Whether students become artists themselves, work in an arts-related field, enjoy the arts as patrons or support the arts. Students are technically trained in music, dance, theater, and the visual arts! They learn the fundamentals and techniques in the four program areas. JCPAA broadens the knowledge of our students by introducing them to the world of the arts and teaching the fundamentals and techniques. Youth and teens receive professional arts instruction, enjoy performances and exhibits, and receive tutoring, mentoring and coaching to achieve academically and pursue their interest in the arts.

The mission of Janus Liberal Arts High School is to provide a liberal arts educational model that develops the students’ sense of social responsibility, strengthens their intellectual and practical skills, and offers students’ the opportunity to demonstrate their ability to apply their knowledge and skills in real-world settings. Our vision is to provide an academic program that opens doors for high school students by equipping them with the skills, knowledge, and specific resources they need to gain entrance into college and secure financial aid at a college or university of their choice.
Janus Liberal Arts High School, a small private school, offers high school students’ a liberal arts education that includes studies in disciplines from the Humanities, the Fine Arts to Natural Sciences and the Social Sciences. The liberal arts program empowers students and prepares them to deal with complexity, diversity, and change. It provides students with broad knowledge of the wider world as well as in-depth study in a specific area of interest. Liberal arts education helps students develop skills like critical thinking, communication, problem-solving, and analytical abilities. JLA offers high school students’ a liberal arts education that is interdisciplinary-based covering topics in the humanities, as well as social, natural and formal sciences.
