Hostage International

Hostage International offers direct and tailored support for those affected by the kidnap or arbitrary detention of a loved-one, and for hostages and detainees after their release. Our dedicated team gives free, confidential and independent information and guidance throughout this traumatic time - and beyond.

Led by our in-house experts, alongside trained volunteers and key partners around the world, we help families and former hostages understand the complexities and challenges around hostage situations.

We are not involved in the resolution of these incidents, but aim to lessen the strain by providing access to free professional services and bespoke advice. This include legal, media or employment advice, trauma therapy, medical and dental care, as well as support around administrative tasks, and financial worries.

We also work discreetly with governments and employers to improve support and understanding for hostages' families and returning hostages.
