Children & Authors' Lit Fanfare & Events (CALFE)
CALFE-Events are delivered online and in-person. It's a dynamic place to meet children's authors of diverse heritages!
During the month of October, we entertain our young audiences and their families: virtually, and in-person. Our activities are mainly supported by Art Council England, the museums we work with: Manchester Museum, Chelmsford Museum and Saffron Walden (so far) and the cultural organisations that promote us. We recently gained partnership with Manchester Literature Festival - watch out for the magic of 2025!
At CALF-Events, we inspire children of all ages to engage with cultures, sometimes other than their own, one page at a time. We believe in the diverse representation of how people live and the values that are of significance to them.
We also believe in the empowerment of our creatives and deliver cultural education through literature, drama, storytelling, visual art and engaging activities.
In February 2025, we became a CIC! Our theme for our 5th year in a row is: Books Our Bridge to Bigger Dreams!
