Bay Area Women in Space and Aerospace

The Bay Area Women in Space and Aerospace (BAWISA) group was formed by Jeanette Quinlan in September 2016. Inspired to connect the incredible women she had met throughout her career in the male-dominated world of Aerospace, Jeanette held the first happy hour in the common room of her condominium building in downtown San Francisco. The next two happy hours in 2016, hosted at Stanford and NASA Ames, respectively, brought in even more of a following. Starting in 2017, happy hours began to feature women speaking on a variety of Aerospace-related topics!

The Bay Area Women in Space and Aerospace is a quarterly (pending availability, global pandemics, etc) speaker series featuring women doing extraordinary things in the Aerospace industry! Topics have included Negotiation, Founding a Startup, Speaker and/or Company features, Data Analytics, Self-Branding and Social Media, and more! Events have been hosted at startups and incubators throughout the Bay Area and virtually.
