Hello, my name is Tsukasa and I am from Japan.

I am the founder and host of WHY SO SERIOUS COMEDY.

We are a new comedy show in Tokyo featuring local comedians, and sometimes international traveling comedians as well.

Since Japan is not an English-speaking country, it is actually difficult for people who want to become stand-up comedians. That is why I started organizing WHY SO SERIOUS COMEDY at Moxy Tokyo Kinshicho—to help build a stand-up comedy scene in Tokyo together with my comedian friends.

After COVID, Japan has welcomed more tourists and immigrants than ever before, and there is a lot of new business and cultural activity happening. However, there are still not many stand-up comedy shows in Japan. My goal is to make WHY SO SERIOUS COMEDY more local, open, and friendly, so everyone can join and have fun together.

One of the reasons I chose Moxy Tokyo Kinshicho is because many travelers stay at this hotel. It has a relaxed, open atmosphere and offers a great opportunity for international travelers to meet local Japanese people. Through this comedy show, I want to connect travelers and locals and create a welcoming social space for everyone.
