Join us for the Yoga for MS Retreat in the Algarve in October 2025!
This retreat is led and hosted by Veronique Gauthier - founder of Taming the Walrus Ltd. (tamingthealrus.com)a leading internaitonally recognised Yoga therapist - specialising in adapting yoga to the needs of people living wth MS.
The rertreat is for 8 persons maximum, which is ideal to ensure Veronique gives everyone her full attention. We will explore how to manage specific MS symptoms but also how to feel better and release tension or stress.
Check-in time on arrival day (Sunday): after 2pm (you can join the 5pm class)
Check-out time on last day (Saturday): 10 am
Timetable
The timetable is not set in stone and we can adapt to your needs and preference, but this is an indication of what a day would look like. We can also add some aqua-gym in the pool (7m x 3,5 m x 1,3 m) or strengthening with elastic bands etc.
Day 1 (Sunday):
14.00: Check-in & Relax
17.00: Restorative class
19:00: Dinner
(we’ll adapt according to people’s arrival time)
Day 2 to Day 6:
8.30 – 9.00: Meditation or mindful walk
9.00 – 10.00: Breakfast
10.00 – 12.30: Yoga for MS. Each day will focus on a specific topic, such as balance, spasticity, mental health…
Every session includes a warm up, breathwork, various asanas (yoga poses) to explore, using props when appropriate, in a very safe environment.
13.00 – 14.00: Plant-based and seafood lunch
14:00 – 17:00: This is the time for you to relax, get to know each other or explore the Algarve. We can organise trips to areas you’d like to explore (optional add-on) or get a massage therapist to come ((optional add-on).
17.00 – 19.00: Breathwork, Restorative Yoga & Yoga Nidra, depending on the mood and your needs
19.00: Plant-based and seafood dinner
In the evening you can enjoy sitting on the patio, chatting, or watch a nice movie in the TV snug.
Day 7 (Saturday):
7.30: Early morning class
8.30: Breakfast & Saying goodbye..
