COLLECTA
More than a thematic selection, COLLECTA proposes an improvised dialogue between different visual languages, intersecting paths, expressions, and singular gestures. This creates a fertile ground for new interpretations and possibilities, where unpredictability, risk, and experimentation are embraced as essential elements of the creative process.
ARTISTS
Ana Caetano (Lisbon, 1970) is a visual artist, dancer, and performer. After a long trajectory in contemporary dance, she graduated in Fine Arts from Ar.Co. Her visual work explores the body in action, physical resistance, and large-scale drawing, investigating the dialogue between movement, space, and creative process.
Sónia Novais Cruz (Lisbon, 1972) lives and works in Lisbon. She studied at Ar.Co (Advanced Project and Individual Project Year). Her work moves between painting and drawing, exploring the challenges of painting and rejecting immediate readings, always maintaining an open space for interpretation.
Francisca Jardim (Porto, 1997) lives and works in Lisbon. She holds a degree in Painting from the Faculty of Fine Arts at the University of Lisbon and is currently attending the Advanced Visual Arts Course at Ar.Co. Her work revolves around painting and drawing, exploring different scales, supports, and pictorial solutions.
María Renée Morales Lam (Guatemala, 1985) is a glass artist whose work has been deeply influenced by notions of the interaction between energy and matter. Her practice often explores objects or events from everyday life that tend to be overlooked or are affected by invisible phenomena such as gravity, time, and memory.
Kathryn MacNaughton (Toronto, 1985) is a Canadian artist based in Lisbon. She creates vibrant, expressive paintings that combine abstract expressionism with figurative elements. Her work is a dynamic journey of discovery, where colour, movement, and form collide in a process that is both spontaneous and controlled.
Adriano Prates (Lisbon, 1977) lives and works in Lisbon. He studied at Arte Ilimitada and completed the Drawing and Painting Course at Ar.Co. His work focuses on experimentation—both in methods and materials—exploring new paths within an unknown, vast, and diverse territory.
Mila Tsarkova (Kherson) is a visual artist, performer, and sculptor who has lived and worked in Lisbon since 2014. Her practice explores the relationship between body, matter, and space, encompassing sculpture, motion design, and digital media. Guided by physicality and intuitive gesture, she investigates the limits of the body, resistance, and transformation, working with various material.
