About this event
What to expect:
In this writing workshop we’ll use guided writing to experiment with creating convincing and interesting characters for your story.
For Our Audience:
How do we create convincing characters on the page?
What are the elements required to breathe life into characters, to make them into living people moving through the prose world you have created?
Do you struggle to find a voice for your characters?
How can we use physicality, the senses, description, to build a person out of words?
Together we will explore a variety of experimental exercises to create characters that resonate in the minds of readers.
This workshop will help you develop your practice in a nurturing environment that’s stimulating and fun. Whether you are writing from life, from your own experiences, using fictional ideas or a combination of all those, this workshop will give you tools and techniques to help build on character sketches, fleshing them out into multi-dimensions in impactful ways.
There will also be the opportunity to share what you’ve written in a supportive and trusting environment and to receive professional level feedback should you want it.
Michael's workshops are technology free. Please bring a pen and paper.
