Mentalization is a high-level cognitive skill that enables business leaders to accurately interpret the thoughts, motivations, intentions, beliefs and needs of themselves and others.

Mentalization is critical to anticipating and influencing responses, decoding intent indicators and managing perspectives of coworkers, clients, business partners and investors. This is particularly true in highly dynamic environments such as startups, scale ups, business combinations and divestitures.
