Wine Lists Decoded: How to Order With Confidence

$38 SGD · Guided tasting included

You’re at dinner. The wine list arrives. It’s 20 pages long.

Burgundy. Rioja. Margaret River.

You scan, hesitate, and either default to the “safe” choice—or pass the list to someone else.

If this sounds familiar, this session is designed for you.

This is a practical, no-nonsense workshop for people who dine out in Singapore—whether for client dinners, date nights, celebrations, or simply enjoying good food with friends.

The session takes place at Sundowner, a nature-filled space designed for slow afternoons and easy conversation. Expect a relaxed, unpretentious setting—no formal tastings, no pressure to perform, and no wine jargon.

In this cozy, intimate environment, you’ll learn:

  • How restaurants structure wine lists (and how pricing really works)
  • How to scan any list in under 3 minutes
  • How to spot good value without overthinking
  • What to say to a sommelier so you feel composed, not unsure
  • Simple pairing rules you can actually remember

The session is led by Christine Liu, WSET Level 3 certified (with Merit), with experience curating tastings and working closely with boutique European producers.

Each session includes a guided pour, where we’ll taste together and apply what you’ve learned in real time.

Whether you’re new to wine or simply want to feel more assured when ordering, you’ll leave with practical tools you can use immediately. You don’t need to be an expert to order with confidence.

Printed summary notes will be provided for the session.
