We should design technology to slow society down
Overview
In this student-led open debate, four voices will explore a question that challenges one of the deepest assumptions of our time: Should technology exist to accelerate life — or to intentionally slow it down?
Rather than a simple “pro vs. con” format, this conversation will bring multiple perspectives to the table, moving beyond productivity and convenience to ask more human questions: What kind of pace does a healthy society need? What does it mean to design technology for depth instead of speed — for wisdom instead of efficiency?
This won’t be about taking sides, but about opening a space to rethink what progress should feel like.
