Upside Down Gathering

Upside Down Gathering

R. Gilberto Rola 24Lisboa, Lisboa
Saturday, Apr 4 from 7 pm to 10 pm
Overview

A night to slow down, eat, and connect.

Come join us for a special evening around Maqlubeh, one of Palestine’s most loved dishes.

Maqlubeh, meaning “upside-down,” is more than just a meal. It carries history. Some trace it back to the time of Salah Al Deen when a dish like it was served after the liberation of Jerusalem, a meal turned upside down onto a plate, becoming part of a story that stayed.

Since then, it’s lived in Palestinian homes, passed from one generation to the next. It’s the kind of dish that brings people together, around family, around guests, around moments that matter.

From 7:00 to 10:00 PM (by reservation only), we’ll have a central table where the Maqlubeh is placed, and everyone can come, serve themselves, and move freely. It’s not about sitting in one place, it’s about sharing the space, the food, and the rhythm of the evening.

As the night unfolds, we’ll share more about the story of Maqlubeh how it traveled through time, carrying memory, identity, and hospitality with it.

Seats are limited, so reservations are needed.

Includes Maqlubeh, yogurt, salad, a drink, and dessert.
