Cities are essential components of modern society and they play a vital role to the well being of human life. Geographically, they barely cover 1% of Earth’s surface but they are home to more than half of the world population and generate about 80% of the global combined GDP. 

While the definition and characteristics of a city can vary by country and region, their importance will likely continue to grow as concentrated and dynamic centers of human activity. They are an essential component of human society and modern life, contributing significantly to economic, social, cultural, and environmental aspects of civilization.

Urbanization, however, faces immense and unprecedented challenges such as infrastructure deficits, traffic congestion, housing affordability, and gentrification, to name but a few. Looming large is environmental sustainability.

Cities have a significant role to play in reducing emissions, adapting to climate impacts, and leading the way in sustainable practices that, if done right, will significantly benefit humanity and the planet.

Join us for the 2nd edition of The Future of Cities Summit as we deep-dive in some of these challenges and discuss how we can bring all stakeholders together to work towards cities that flourish as centers of opportunity, of innovation, and of economic growth, while also celebrating diversity, inclusiveness, and equity to all.
