The Art of Remaining
A conversation with Palestinian women creatives on art, memory, and resistance, and how creativity becomes a way to remain.
What does it mean to remain through art?
How can creativity become a language of resistance?
The Art of Remaining is an intimate conversation led by Palestinian women creatives exploring how artistic expression becomes a way to endure, witness, and resist. Through dialogue and reflection, the speakers will share how their practices across visual art, writing, storytelling, and voice hold memory, challenge erasure, and create space for presence and survival.
This gathering invites participants to consider the many forms resistance can take: an image that preserves memory, a word that refuses silence, a gesture that insists on dignity. Together, we will reflect on the tools artists carry with them: imagination, storytelling, and collective memory, and how these tools help communities remain rooted even in the face of displacement and injustice.
Rather than a formal lecture, the evening will unfold as a thoughtful conversation grounded in lived experience, creative practice, and the power of artistic expression.
Join us for a space of listening, reflection, and dialogue on how art sustains memory, nurtures resilience, and becomes a quiet yet powerful act of remaining.
Who should attend:
Artists, writers, cultural workers, students, and anyone interested in art, storytelling, and the role of creativity in social and political resistance.
Event format:
Conversation followed by an open dialogue with the audience.
