Every Friday, it’s a special weekly Sunset Social event for Digital Nomads Madeira Island with the best DJs and live concerts. Riva - Live Concert & Dj Set

RIVA

RIVA, formerly RIVAthewizard, is an extension of the Portuguese composer and producer Rui Paiva, in which he rehearses new ways of connecting the electronic universe and clubbing to pop music and poetry sung in Portuguese, addressing topics such as sexuality, mental health, and also political action.

He debuted in 2019 with Fuite en Avant, a single with a music video that was presented at the Queer Lisboa film festival, followed by the EP A COBRA, A FLOR, E O VENTO. He made concerts in several cities across the country, as well as in DJset format at festivals such as Bons Sons, in Cem Soldos, and LEME, in Ílhavo.

In 2020 he released Loucura Censura, his first album of longer duration, in which he brings a strong political content of social, emotional, and sexual liberation. It includes collaborations such as Quero Brincar Contigo, with Steve (an emerging techno producer from Lisbon, edited internationally), and Fuckboy, with Matheus Paraízo (The Voice).

Loucura Censura was widely received by critics, earning 4 stars in the newspaper Expresso, long interviews with Rimas e Batidas and A Cabine, highlighted in the bets for 2021 by Variações magazine, as well as several mentions in other publications. The album had its first live performance at Lux Frágil in October 2020. In August 2021, he presented three visual singles: all of which premiered exclusively on VodafoneFM, in a partnership with the L’Espace program. For 2022, he prepares an album of new songs, edited by Chinfrim Discos, from Lisbon. A unique concert.
