Storytelling Workshop
Dive into the world of storytelling with us.
What to expect from this workshop?
What if storytelling isn’t so much about performing, but about listening? To your body, your memories, your voice? Storytelling is a playful workshop where we explore the stories already living in us, the ones that tug, linger, or quietly ask to be told.
In this 2-hour workshop, we dive into the art of storytelling through guided prompts, fun exercises, and simple tools to help you structure your ideas.
You’ll learn how stories work, why certain narratives move us, and how to transform moments from your life into engaging, emotional, or even funny stories.
No experience needed, just curiosity and a willingness to be a little vulnerable, a little brave, and a little surprised by what comes out when you start writing.
About your host:
Thom Cock is a comedian, writer, laughter therapist, and the founder of Fall in Laugh, a project that has brought joy to more than 60,000 people and 780 companies around the world.
Born in Zaire, raised in Belgium, shaped by stages from Paris to Montréal, Thom has spent years exploring how stories, no matter if they are funny, messy, painful, or magical.. connect us. His journey has taken him from performing one-man shows to teaching laughter therapy in NGOs, children’s homes, and rehabilitation centers, all while observing one truth: Stories heal. Stories unite. Stories make us human.
And because life writes its own jokes:
Thom’s very first time on stage happened in Montréal.
He thought he’d be performing in a tiny basement comedy club with 12 people, a brick wall, and a microphone that had seen better days.
Instead… he walked into a 300-seat theatre, filmed by national TV and recorded by radio.
He survived (somehow) and learned his favorite rule: You’re never ready. Tell the story anyway.
Today, Thom helps people turn their experiences into stories: stories worth telling, sharing, and remembering.
Location of the event:
Fable Bookshop Cafe, Rua dos Prazeres 10A, Lisbon, 1200-820
