Screening of "THE SEEDS OF VANDANA SHIVA" with Indian Vegan Lunch and Seed-Saving Workshop
Join us to rediscover the IMPORTANCE, MAGIC and REWARD of Saving Seeds at a special event around this inspiring award-winning film.
FILM SYNOPSIS: How did the willful daughter of a Himalayan forest conservator become Monsanto’s worst nightmare? The Seeds of Vandana Shiva tells the remarkable life story of Gandhian eco-activist Dr. Vandana Shiva, how she stood up to the corporate Goliaths of industrial agriculture, rose to prominence in the seed saving and organic food movements, and is inspiring an international crusade for change.
After we watch the documentary, a delicious and nutritious Indian vegan lunch will be served by the fire place. Seeds are the first link in the food chain and after lunch José Miguel Fonseca, founder of Colher Para Semear , will talk about food and farming in our communities and the importance of saving seeds. He will demonstrate and explain everything we need to know about seed saving and how to confidently get started, as well as what we can do to support this locally in our communities.
