This three-hour virtual workshop will teach you how to leverage simple search engine marketing tools and public relations strategies to expand your reach, revenue, and overall impact.
Participants will learn about the latest low-cost and effective tools to get found on Google and how to improve reach and awareness across the board. Even if you outsource this important work, you'll want to better understand how search marketing works and what to expect. There are important changes in the industry you will want to know about. We will also cover basic PR and media relations strategies to increase your chances of getting quotes and mentions in: major media outlets, newspapers, local television, and more. This class offers a great introduction for both search and media marketing for any small business or nonprpofit organization!
Attendees will receive a workbook to use during class and there will be time for Q&A built into the session. All participants will leave with a toolkit of resources, including templates, worksheets, and helpful links. Founders and Directors are encouraged to send key stakeholders or employees, if unable to attend. Or bring a team to work together on your strategy.
This workshop is eligible for the City of Austin Small Business Skills Certificate program. Participants who complete six courses in the program are recognized in an awards ceremony at City Hall with other local business and community leaders.
What To Expect:
Participants will be able to speak and interact with the instructor and others, as if in a live, in-person session. There will be ample time for Q&A at the end, but we also have plenty of group discussions planned during the session as well. There will be two ten-minute breaks to allow for checking your email, grabbing a cup of coffee, etc.
