Maqam Books’ first event in Europe comes to Casa Palestina, Lisbon, for an evening of conversation, collective reading, and reflection. Bringing into dialogue the memory of the 1974 Carnation Revolution and the Palestinian Intifada, this event explores storytelling as a tool of resistance, remembrance, and solidarity.Through discussion, shared readings, and cultural references, we will reflect on how stories, oral histories, music, and literature shape revolutionary consciousness across time and place. Members of the Portuguese community will also be invited to share stories and memories from their own families’ experiences of the revolution, opening a space for local voices, lived history, and collective exchange.The event also marks Maqam’s European debut and celebrates its first temporary home at Casa Palestina, where a curated selection of Maqam Books will now be available.With Mohammed Massoud — Founder of Maqam Books Guest speaker Abd Hawash — Founder of Darkoom bookstoreModerated by Adan Abu Dalu (Maqam Books team)
