We'll begin with a guided visit at Jahn und Jahn, then stroll together to Madragoa for their exhibition opening. The tour concludes at 3+1 Arte Contemporânea, with a talk by Catarina Rosendo, followed by drinks offered by our partner João Portugal Ramos.

Jahn und Jahn – Exhibition: Normal, by Gülbin Ünlü

Established in 1978 as Galerie Fred Jahn, the gallery has evolved over nearly five decades, shaped by continuity and a close engagement with contemporary art. Since 2017, it operates under the name Jahn und Jahn, with spaces in Munich and, more recently, in Lisbon.Represented artists include Remi Ajani, Karel Appel, Karl Bohrmann, Lutz Braun, Andreas Breunig, Heidi Bucher, Heinz Butz, Catarina Dias, Hedwig Eberle, Georg Fuchssteiner, Isa Genzken, Julius Heinemann, Soyon Jung, Konrad Klapheck, Karin Kneffel, Imi Knoebel, Barry Le Va, Young-Jae Lee, Olaf Metzel, Henri Michaux, Hermann Nitsch, Navid Nuur, Albert Oehlen, Kirsten Ortwed, Erwin Pfrang, Jorge Queiroz, Paula Rego, Jana Schröder, Al Taylor, Rudi Tröger, Alexi Tsioris, Gülbin Ünlü, Stefan Vogel, and Troels Wörsel.

Madragoa – Exhibition: Homesick for Another World, various artists

MADRAGOA is a contemporary art gallery founded in 2016 in the homonymous neighborhood of Lisbon’s historical center. Since its beginning, the gallery has been an early supporter of a number of international young artists such as Adrián Balseca, Rodrigo Hernández, Renato Leotta, Buhlebezwe Siwani, Joanna Piotrowska, and Yuli Yamagata, whose first productions and exhibition have been produced and promoted by the gallery and often presented for the first time in Portugal. Moreover, Madragoa launched the careers of young Portuguese artists such as Sara Chang Yan, Luís Lázaro Matos, Gonçalo Preto, and Jaime Welsh, giving them visibility on the international scene.

From its peripheral location in Europe, MADRAGOA’s project focuses on how to set a deep conversation with the city and its extraordinary potential, setting a dialogue between global artistic practices and local craftsmanship and ideas. The gallery always created experiences of research and production for its artists locally and promotes its program also through the participation in a number of international art fairs, gallery exchanges, and exhibition projects.

3+1 Arte Contemporânea – Exhibition: Vivenciar by Alberto Carneiro and Charlotte Moth

3+1 Arte Contemporânea, founded in Lisbon in February 2007, was created with the aim of promoting Portuguese and international artists, focusing on original proposals that emphasise the diversity that qualifies contemporary artistic practices. The gallery has distinguished itself by presenting international artists little known to the Portuguese public, along with emerging national talents of exceptional quality. 3+1 intends to continue broadening its horizons by investing in internationalisation.

3+1 Arte Contemporânea is pleased to present Vivenciar,with works by Alberto Carneiro (1937–2017, Portugal) and Charlotte Moth (1978, UK), and curated by Caroline Hancock. In this exhibition Moth shows a new series of works in dialogue with pieces by Carneiro, creating an asynchronous narrative that enables new ways of interpreting both of their practices.

João Portugal Ramos is one of Portugal’s leading wine producers, founded by renowned enologist João Portugal Ramos, who played a key role in modernizing Portuguese winemaking.
