About this event

  • Event lasts 2 hours

Join us for an evening of poetry, creativity, and community at Good Company Bookstore, with our welcoming hosts, Nayma and Clive. Whether you're a poet, a poetry lover, or simply curious, this is an opportunity to share words, listen, and connect with fellow literary enthusiasts.

What to Expect from the Event?

The evening will begin with a few readings from our hosts, Clive Oseman and Nayma Chamchoun, before we open the floor to the open mic, for anyone who wishes to share their poetry in a warm and welcoming environment.

Clive Oseman and Nayma Chamchoun are internationally renowned performers with very contrasting styles. Nayma tackles serious subjects with beautifully written poetry delivered in her distinctive, hypnotic style, and Clive performs humorous, often surreal material using clever wordplay and a vivid imagination. They look forward to sharing theirwork and introducing the open mic performers.

If you’d like to perform, please prepare 1 or 2 poems, ideally originals. Both English and Portuguese poetry are welcome.

Not a performer? No problem! You’re more than welcome to attend and enjoy the readings as part of the audience.

Who Is This Event For?

This event is for anyone with a love of poetry - whether you’re a seasoned poet, an aspiring writer, or simply a poetry enthusiast who enjoys listening to spoken word.
