Pedro Fonseca, Crowdprocess (CEO)

CEO and Head of Data Science @CrowdProcess Inc.James is a scientific computing toolkit for risk officers. James combines advanced scientific computing and Machine Learning algorithms with a business-friendly interface, specifically designed for the risk officers of mid-tier banks and credit institutions.It is being used by several European banks for improving credit decisions, with consistently stellar results.

Sebastião Lancastre, EasyPay (CEO)

CEO at EasyPay, he worked at Unicre for 6 years and participated in defining the standards of secure electronic commerce. He hold a degree in Systems Engineering. He has an ability to automate processes that are, or seem, complex. Earlier in his life he started my career as a salesman for Xerox. He quickly understood that acquiring knowledge on a daily basis was an indispensable tool for success. He always learns something new and tries to keep abreast of the latest technology, which is one of the reasons he consider himself to be a pioneer in the IT field. His entrepreneurial spirit, and the ability to implement his ideas are key to his professional success. Recently, the Pordata.pt site which he helped develop was distinguished with the Summit Awards prize from the United Nations.

Ricardo Marvao, Beta-i (co-founder)

Ricardo Marvão is the Head of Global Resources & Co-Founder of Beta-i. Ricardo co-founded and was the CEO of Evolve Space Solutions, one of the first Portuguese startups providing software products and services for the major European space agencies and companies, that was later acquired by Novabase (the biggest Portuguese IT company, in PSI-20 Index). Ricardo was Manager for the Aerospace department at Novabase until early 2013. Ricardo worked several years for the European Space Agency in Earth Observation & Scientific missions in Germany and later for Inmarsat in London, a major satellite telecommunications company, besides working in Boston with MIT-Portugal. He has an Aerospace MBA from the Toulouse Business School.

Filipe Neves, Feedzai (Finance Director)

Dr. Filipe Neves is an under-graduate in Management by the Faculty of Economics of the University of Coimbra and is currently doing a Masters in Marketing by the same faculty. He worked for more than 9 years at IPN-Incubadora (the technological business incubator of the University of Coimbra) as a Projects Manager giving support to new entrepreneurs on the early stages of their technological based businesses, helping them in the development of their business plans and giving tutoring in several management fields. In this function, he helped more de 200 teams to evaluate and develop their business models and future companies. He also worked in the management of nationally and internationally (EU) funded projects. For 5 years, he was a teacher of Enterprise Management and Business Creation to master students at the Informatics Engineering Department of the Science and Technology Faculty of the University of Coimbra. For the last two years, he has been working as the Finance Director for Feedzai Group, a company the raised over 20 million USD in venture capital funds, being the responsible for the operational, financial and economic daily management of the company, financial and economic budgeting, forecasting and reporting. Feedzai currently has 100 employees and Filipe Neves his gaining experience in International Taxation, International Transfer Pricing mechanisms, HR recruitment and management, contracts negotiation, etc.

Pat Patel, Money20/20 Europe (Content Director)

As the Content Director at Money20/20, Pat gets to travel the world speaking with the leading companies, whether established or emerging, within the Payments, Financial Service and Retail sectors. This enables a great insight into the current opportunities and challenges facing the market today. Prior to Money20/20. Pat worked at VocaLink, one of the largest and most innovative ACHs and broader payments company, working in the strategy team with a focus on real-time payments systems. He worked on the concept of the Zapp proposition in the UK and led the delivery of the project to secure seed funding from the UK shareholding bank. Prior to this, Pat worked the Insurance sector within Actuarial and Risk teams. In his spare time he actively supports the FinTech ecosystem across Europe, from mentoring startups @ Startupbootcamp to delivering industry insight presentations at events and FinTech associations.
