About this event

Did you know Lisbon suffered a tremendous earthquake in 1755, followed by a tsumani and fires all over the city? It was devastating and the reason why this area of the city is so modern and arquitecturally organized.

Baixa-Chiado is the sophisticated part of Lisbon, but also where its bohemian and cultural life is more alive. Here, intellectuals, writers and artists made presence to discuss Portuguese society in famous cultural gatherings. Later on, it was also here that the democratic revolution took place, ending a 41 years dictatorship. It was made of war tanks and carnations, and it reflects the Portuguese way of being. We call it a country of brandos costumes, meaning we prefer to solve matters in a quiet way.

Not quiet at all is the experience you will have with us! We will guide you through some of our city’s historic milestones, but also to some of its famous delicacies – like the delicious pastry Pastel de nata and the typical beverage Ginginha. Join us and we will show the city as to one of our friends visiting.

We’re Wild Walkers Tours and we love to show Lisbon around, to all who wish to have an unconventional tour around our amazing city.

Back in 2011, we started offering tours in Lisbon as a small and young team. We wanted backpackers to experience Lisbon as we knew it, at a reasonable price. Away from the historic, cultural and crowded touristic places, and into the real vibe of city living. So we did tip based tours, being sure our guests would love and support us! Fast forward almost 10 years, we already welcomed thousands of travelers from all over the world!

We now offer several experiences in and around the city, to anyone who wants to live the real Lisbon. Appreciate our tasty cuisine, listen to our beautiful Fado music or have a crazy night out on one of our famous PubCrawls.

All this with our local and friendly guides, who will show you around as if you were a friend visiting
