The Latte Art Throwdown of Lisbon Coffee Week 2025 with the support of Alpro is a battle of talent and precision, dedicated to baristas who have mastered the art of drawing with coffee. With 16 participants competing head-to-head in a direct elimination format, this championship challenges the consistency, creativity and cold-bloodedness of the country's best latte artists.
Over four intense rounds, the contestants will have to replicate patterns drawn from the Coffee Week pack of cards, using just a spray of Alpro Barista plant-based drink and a single shot of espresso. The coffees will be extracted by the organisation's baristas and the designs presented directly to the judges' table - with no room for error or retouching.
In the semi-final, a wild card raises the bar even higher: whoever lost in that round will have another chance, but it depends on the steaming of the finalists to create their plant-based drink. The grand final tests consistency with two identical patterns - one in a cappuccino cup and one in an espresso cup.
