The Industry Days aim to inspire and elevate participants to the potential of working in the food industry by addressing by-products stream through practical exposure and expert-led sessions. By visiting top-tier industries and engaging with professionals, attendees will learn about cutting-edge technologies and sustainable practices that drive the industry forward.

These visits’ series provide inspiration to new researchers and entrepreneurs by visiting the latest advancements in food production and by-product valorization. Through industry visits, workshops, and networking sessions, participants will gain insights into sustainable practices and innovative strategies employed by leading companies in the field.

Programme Outline

Day 1: Introduction and Industry Visits

• Welcome

• Visit to food processor industry specializing in stabilized preparations that create unique flavor experiences. Get to know the most effective technology while respecting the integrity of the produce

• Lunch

• Visit to a family-owned company that manages over 60 hectares of fruit orchards, with plans to install an additional 60 hectares for apricots, persimmons, and quinces.

• Discussion and Q&A Session with Industry Experts.

• Social Programme

Day 2: Industry Visits & Workshops

• Visit to the centre of excellence, at national and cross-border level, in technological support for the agri-food sector, in promoting research and development and innovation in areas of intervention aligned with the priorities of companies.

• Interactive Session: Developing Business Models for Byproduct Valorization.

• Networking Session and Closing Remarks.
