Handmade Gifts Making – notebooks, postcards and framed collage
Overview
Handmade gifts just hit different. We’re slowing down and making things that can actually mean something. One week before Christmas, we’re diving into crafts of gifting, from notebooks to framed collage. During this 3 hour session we’ll be introducing simple stitching technique with saddle stitching (stapled binding) and Singer sewn binding (thread stitching), using mixture of different types of paper, to build them into scrapbooks, pocket journals or sketchbooks. Together with cutting up paper scraps from magazines we'll create postcards and collages in frame of your chose, using composition and layering principles. For ready-made gifts we'll prepare the wrapping.
To offer personal artworks, place for journaling, grocery lists, projects, to-dos or memories. For friends, lovers, coworkers, family members or yourself. Join us and leave with gifts that feels like yours.
Materials needed for the workshop are provided, including glossy, acrylic, kraft paper, magazines, string, thread, fabric scraps, envelopes, wraping paper, stickers, tapes, glue, markers. Feel free to bring along whatever random treasures you want to work with.
