The Composites industry has become essential in sectors such as aerospace and aeronautics, construction and infrastructures, automotive, wind energy, defence, maritime, among others. In fact, composite materials have unique characteristics such as lightness, high durability, excellent mechanical properties, ease of use, and virtually endless variety of shapes. These characteristics are even more critical when policies such as Paris Agreement or European Green Deal, linked together with the circular economy, blue economy or industry 4.0, require a new way of thinking, developing, using, reusing and recycling the materials, components and structures. Moreover, the current COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic is putting unprecedented threats to the global economy and on these paradigmatic changes. In this context, the academy plays an important role on it, by preparing future professionals to tackle these challenges.

On this first FRP++ workshop series, the European Master in Advanced Structural Analysis and Design using Composite Materials is presented by the Consortium. Then, three invited keynote speakers from relevant composites market, namely from ACCIONA, AIRBUS and VESTAS will share their opinion about the challenges for the next 10 years and the role of the academy in this. Next, a debate will take place giving the audience the possibility of exchanging opinions.
