Three Palestinian Women
ON ART, MEMORY, AND FREEDOM

On May 16th, three Palestinian women come together in conversation with Sama’ Abdulhadi—not for a formal interview, but for a shared encounter shaped by sound, memory, art, and the unfinished struggle for liberation.This conversation begins in Palestine: from land under Israeli occupation, from exile, from the ongoing Nakba, and from Gaza, where genocide is not a distant event but a present wound carried in the body of every Palestinian. It begins with the understanding that Palestinian art is never created in an empty room. It emerges under siege, across borders, through checkpoints, in exile, beneath surveillance, and against the machinery of erasure.Together, Sama’, Dima, and Nour will reflect on what it means to create while belonging to a people whose existence is constantly forced to explain itself. They will speak of sound not only as music, but as a language of liberation—a way of carrying what cannot always be spoken directly, of refusing silence, and of insisting that Palestine is not only a place of loss, but a living source of rhythm, memory, resistance, and return.At the heart of this dialogue is the ongoing Nakba: not as a memory sealed in 1948, but as a structure that continues to shape Palestinian life through displacement, fragmentation, occupation, and genocide. The conversation asks how this reality enters the work of Palestinian artists, even when it is not named explicitly. How does occupation shape listening? How does exile alter the voice?What happens when Palestinian sound travels beyond Palestine? What is heard? What is misunderstood? What remains rooted?As three Palestinian women, this gathering approaches art not as decoration or escape, but as a field of struggle and imagination. It offers space to think about artistic expression as survival, refusal, continuity, and a path toward freedom.This is an invitation to listen beyond the surface of sound—to hear the history within it, the rupture beneath it, and the liberation toward which it reaches.The event fee is €5, which will go toward supporting the operational costs of Casa Palestina.
