Companion Creatures

In this two-hour group experience, participants will handbuild a companion creature that represents a part of themselves they like. After a shared introduction part, there will be time to create an individual creature (loosely based on an animal, fantastical creature or completely free form) and reflect on the process afterwards.

This experience is aimed at all curious people (aged 18+) who want to experiment with handbuilding pottery, build confidence and learn about themselves in a welcoming group setting. The focus lies on being playful with the material without expectations of perfection.

No prior experience needed!

After the session, your piece will be fired and glazed with a transparent layer. You can choose to pick it up in the studio after our notification📩, or have it shipped to your home.📦

(Shipping costs are not included in the workshop price and will be paid separately by the participants depending on the destination. The studio does not take responsibility for any damage to the pieces during shipping.)

Macs is a lively interdisciplinary arts and crafts studio in the Lapa area in central Porto🎭. In our studio space, different art forms are practiced while the front area is reserved for ceramics. Our friendly and creative community are happy to welcome you in this special space where you can take inspiration from other’s creations.
