About Our Speaker:

M. Claire Chung is a pioneer at the intersection of luxury and digital commerce. Claire raised more than $195 million with 2 tech bros to launch China's first luxury online retailer taking 300 brands from Valentino to Topshop online in China. Later, Claire launched Net-A-Porter in China and post merger with Yoox, led the Yoox Net-A-Porter Group. After moving to Portugal during the pandemic, She raised capital for ignae, a start up skincare brand from Azores and as CEO transformed it within 4 years of relaunching it to Portugal’s first globally distributive luxury skincare brand. Claire has led companies in Portugal, Hong Kong, China, Italy, UK and USA.

Claire also serves on Boards of companies ranging from publicly listed, to PE backed to start ups. Claire speaks 5 languages and has lived in New York, Milan, London, Hong Kong, Shanghai and now currently based in Cascais.

She is committed to supporting female entrepreneurs and focusing this talk on her journey of doing business in Portugal, how to fundraise and lessons learned with opportunistic ways to leverage Portugal as an incubator country to take your business ideals global.
