Public Experiments #4:
BYOC: Bring Your Own Conspiracy - Environmental Edition!
Conspiracy theories are explanations that assume hidden forces are shaping reality. Why do we fall for conspiracies and what do they reveal about us, our fears, beliefs, and the societies we live in? What if we looked at them as cultural myths, signals of our anxieties, and raw material for imagining otherwise?
In this session, we treat conspiracies not as truths or lies to debunk, but as collective myths > stories that surface when the world feels unstable, complex, or out of reach. Through experiments, LLMs, and collage-making, we’ll trace how narratives mutate as they travel. What makes something feel intentional? When do we see patterns that aren’t there? And how much do machines amplify the same instinct?
🌀 facilitated and developed by @thedominica + @stefania_duricova
Bring your own conspiracy. Bonus points if you lowkey believe it. 😜
