Dia 30 de Novembro regressa o evento das pequenas Cidades Inteligentes aliadas ao Turismo Inteligente
A quarta edição do SMART TRAVEL está a aproximar-se e, uma vez mais, com muitas novidades que pretendem colocar ênfase no desenvolvimento económico, social e sustentável dos territórios de baixa densidade, sobretudo das pequenas cidades e regiões periféricas, através de alternativas inteligentes para o aproveitamento do potencial turístico.
Num momento em que, por todo o globo, a massificação e a pressão turística das grandes cidades e atrações famosas coloca desafios complexos às administrações públicas e, especialmente, aos governos locais e aos gestores de destinos e marcas, é fundamental pensar de que forma os destinos de pequena e média dimensão se podem constituir como uma alternativa e atrair, não grandes massas, mas o turista que valoriza a originalidade, a autenticidade a identidade de cada lugar. O turista que quer novas experiências, que consome sem culpas.
O primeiro evento internacional a “cruzar” SMART CITIES E TURISMO
Quando em 2014, na primeira edição do SMART TRAVEL se uniram os tópicos de Cidades Inteligentes e Turismo e Destinos Inteligentes criando reflexão e debate sobre o que estava para chegar, a cidade de Bragança e a região do Nordeste Transmontano tornaram-se um epicentro da discussão global sobre o futuro do turismo em regiões periféricas, áreas protegidas e como preservar o património cultural e natural garantindo um retorno justo para as populações através de uma estratégia baseada em sustentabilidade, criatividade e inovação.

We would like to invite you to attend the 4th Annual SMART TRAVEL event organized by the Municipality of Bragança, which is slated to hold from 30th Nov 2017 – 01st Dec 2017 at the Paulo Quintela Cultural Centre in Bragança, Portugal
It’s already inevitable to talk about SMARTRAVEL we are by own effort part of International calendar related with Smart Cities and Smart Tourism.
The SMART TRAVEL event gathers knowledge but also shares ideas and creates the correct environment to co-create solutions and strategies towards a sustainable development of cities and regions contributing to improving their citizen’s quality of life and, most important of everything, their happiness.
This year one of our featured keynote speakers will be Charles R. (Chuck) Wolfe. As a long time urban writer, photographer and land-use attorney/consultant based in Seattle, Charles Wolfe will share insights and expertise as a dynamic speaker who leads explorations of urban spaces impacted by rapid change and growth. He is also Founder and Principal Advisor at the Seeing Better Cities Group and an Affiliate Associate Professor in the College of Built Environments at the University of Washington. Chuck is an avid traveler, photographer, and writer, and contributes on urban development topics to several publications, including Planetizen, CityLab/The Atlantic Cities, The Atlantic, The Huffington Post, Grist, seattlepi.com, and Crosscut.com. He also blogs at myurbanist.com.
In his latest book 'Seeing the better city', he explores urban spaces impacted by rapid change and growth.
We challenge also local companies, city authorities and administration, students, researchers, and also experts and citizens in general to participate and contribute in the same way to the reflection, questioning and sharing their own valuable experiences and showcase their solutions and innovations.
We want the best audience for the best speakers.
