Booking an appointment with an English-speaking employee where a TIN (Tax Identification Number) can be assigned, thus eliminating the need to previously request it to the Tax Authority. Additionally, bilingual minutes of proxies, memorandum and articles, are available online in the Company IN site, providing all necessary information to assist the process of incorporation.

IAPMEI present Startup Visa and Tech Visa

Startup Visa is a host program for foreign entrepreneurs, without permanent residence in the Schengen area, who intend to develop an innovative and/or entrepreneurial project in Portugal, with the view to the grant of residence visa or residence permit, and it is applicable to:

Entrepreneurs that intend to develop their innovative and/or entrepreneurial project in Portugal; even if they have not created a company;

Entrepreneurs that have already business projects in their origin countries, and want to deploy their activity in Portugal.

By investing and creating qualified employment, entrepreneurs can integrate a startup incubator in Portugal and benefit from all the incentives and support of the StartUP Portugal Program. This program aims to strengthen the innovation ecosystem and to affirm Portugal as an open country to entrepreneurship and to all those who, with their knowledge and capacity for innovation, can bring investment to the Portuguese economy, capable of strengthen and enhance national skilled human resources.

Tech Visa is a certification programme aimed to Companies that wish to attract highly qualified and specialized staff to Portugal, from countries not included in the Schengen area. Tech Visa simplifies visa and residence permit procedures for tech VISA certified companies, aiming to ensure that highly qualified/skilled workers from countries outside the Schengen area, can access jobs created by Portuguese incorporated companies or startups in a simplified way, including companies that result from foreign direct investment.

Portugal IN is a task force, created by the Portuguese Government, in the wake of the Brexit referendum, to attract more foreign direct investment (FDI), responding directly to the Prime Minister. We especially support the expansion process of companies operating in the UK an its main inward FDI markets (USA, China, India and Japan). We also work in identifying the barriers and constraints that are facing key FDI projects in Portugal and presenting to the Government the necessary legislation or procedures to overcome the identified constraints

IAPMEI, I.P., the Agency for Competitiveness and Innovation, under the Ministry of Economy, in charge of SME policy, has the main mission to promote competitiveness and business growth, support the design, execution and evaluation of public policies aiming at strengthening innovation, entrepreneurship and business investment in companies that carry out their activities, namely small and medium-sized enterprises and startups, except in the tourism sector. Within this frame, and among others, IAPMEI manages the StartUP Visa and Tech Visa.
