Panel Discussion with Keynote Speaker Alaa Abi Haidar
Acerca deste evento
Join us at Nova SBE for a series of events about the new forms of creating Art, with artificial intelligence, the market for digital creative work, and the world of blockchain and tokens.
We start with an exhibition from March 5-8 of one of the latest AI-generated art by ALAgrApHY, an award-winning artist and scientist. With his early work in 2016, ALAgrApHY is considered as the one who started the Generative Adversarial Networks AI-Art movement using algorithms to teach machines how to make art. Since then, this artist (painter, photographer, and filmmaker) and scientist (Ph.D. in complex systems, Data Scientist, and expert in artificial intelligence), and TED speaker, and pioneer in AI-generated art held numerous exhibitions globally, obtaining numerous awards.
On March 7, at 18h00, we will have the premier event, a panel with artists, entrepreneurs, curators, and scholars to discuss how the digital transformation enriches art by creating a world stage and new opportunities for the artists and those who love art.
The panel features a diverse set of speakers, like:
- ALAgrApHY, Artist | Scientist
- Pauline Foessel, Founder of the Art Pool, the First Curator-Driven NFT Platform powered by a global network of vetted art professionals
- Astrid Sauer, Founder of State of the Art
- João Simões, Artist | Architect | Publisher
- Leid Zejnilovic, Entrepreneur | Professor@Nova SBE
The world of NFTs is disrupting entire industries, with valuations of NFT’s going far beyond the initial expectations of the authors and some experts. How does that new opportunity of interacting with the global digital audience and selling art affect the art as an industry and artists? And how do the new forms of Art, like AI-generated art, challenge our perception and valuation of art?
This is the first event of its kind at Nova School of Business and Economics and represents the statement of the school’s interest in understanding the new affordances of the technology and its leadership in bringing that understanding to all segments of society. Art embodies our creativity, imagination, and the capacity to think and express ourselves in different ways. Today, when culture is pushed aside by the necessity to survive, broadening the views of what is art and how we are evolving about the means to create art and appropriate the value of those creations is even more important.
On March 8, from 11h00 to 14h00, we will organize a hands-on tutorial for creating non-fungible tokens, led by ALAgrApHY, an experienced digital artist who creates and sells digital art. This is a free and open access activity, with limited seats. The priority is given to the artists and NovaSBE community members.
