Overview
This talk is a personal journey through the unexpected yet powerful convergence between professional risk management and endurance sports. As both a PMI-RMP certified project manager and a triathlete, I’ve discovered how the principles behind the risk management processes can be directly applied to navigating high-stakes competitions and training blocks. And vice-versa! How being a athlete can help me boost my risk management skills.
Through real-life experiences and thought-engaging comparisons, I’ll challenge the traditional vs. agile debate from both perspectives—debunking myths and reframing how uncertainty is approached. Can risk planning help you pace a triathlete race or marathon? How racing and training can help you better manage risks. What would GOAT say about risk, mindset, and preparation?
This presentation invites you to think differently about risk—not just as a professional discipline but as a skill which can influence way of doing different things.
