ABOUT ABOVE & BEYOND HANGOUTS
Above & Beyond Hangouts are a monthly hangout for all of those hacking the Portuguese entrepreneur ecosystem.
Happening every last Wednesday of the month, at Ferroviário, it will be a great opportunity to gather all level ecosystem players wanting to contribute to overcoming the community’s challenges.
Every year, in November, Lisbon is turned into the epicenter of the entrepreneurship community. We want to leverage that community, and create a frequent space where everyone can discuss important topics for the development of the ecosystem.
ABOUT THE SPEAKERS
Inês Sequeira (Casa do Impacto), Moderator
Lawyer by training, Inês left her own law practice in 2009 to make a difference in the public sector. Since then, she worked with innovation and entrepreneurship in the Municipality of Lisbon, where she was part of the team that helped to build the Lisbon entrepreneurship ecosystem, with the creation of several innovative spaces like StartUp Lisboa, Labs, Centro de Inovação da Mouraria, Fab Lab Lisboa and others, and for the Portuguese Government. For Inês, it all comes down to making the entrepreneurial tissue a driver to overcome social, economic and political challenges. In January 2018, she joined the five century old organization Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Lisboa, where she leads the Department of Entrepreneurship and Social Economy and founded Casa do Impacto (House of Impact), a social innovation incubator/hub, located in a convent on one of the most beautiful hills of Lisbon.
As a person, Inês has always been deeply engaged in issues regarding society, equality, justice, education, sustainable growth and environment. Help building a world designed by equal opportunities is her ultimate goal in life and work.
