Description

This basic English course is opened to any interested one but above all to the students in UNICV-FECM currently following the course of studies in Navigation for pleasure Yatchs. It is designed in order to satisfy basic maritime communication, safety and security on board, basic terminology and marine environment protection. At this level no relevance will be given to grammar. There will be several graded videos, 5 small student own video report, 5 graded weekly quizes and a final multiple choise examination on the 08th December 2017 . This blended online course will be fully supported within the framework of the educational platform www.schoology.com.

The course coordinator and designer is a Master Mariner, with Msc in Shipping Management, Msc in Maritime Law and International trade, among others. Almost 30 years lecturing in Cape Verde Maritime education in several fields such as Navigation, semanship, maritime law, maritime economics, ship management and logistics, ship's stability, maritime safety and security, just to name a few. Professor Fredson holds a Msc in Educational English and is currently lecturing English for maritime studies for several courses within the University of Cape Verde.
