Wild Fiber Paper-Making Workshop 🌾making paper with invasive plantsHosted by Souad GhaffariDate: Saturday, December 3, 2025 Time: 10:00 AM – 2:00 PMAll tools provided Join us for a hands-on workshop that transforms environmental harm into creative potential.Learn how to repurpose invasive plant species into beautifully textured, handmade paper in a 4-hour session led by Tunisian designer and eco-maker Souad Ghaffari.Through pulping, blending, and pressing, you’ll explore the surprising creative possibilities of plants like pampas grass, mimosa, giant reed, and more—while diving into themes of sustainability, circular economy, and bio-design. <h3>🌱 What You’ll Learn:</h3><ul><li>Introduction to natural and invasive plant fibers</li><li>Demonstration of soda ash boiling to extract fiber</li><li>Hands-on papermaking with color, texture, and fiber blending</li><li>Drying and finishing techniques for durable, unique paper</li></ul> Leave with your own eco-conscious paper samples and the skills to make more!Feel free to bring any plant materials or fiber-rich offcuts you’d like to experiment with. About the Instructor: Souad Ghaffari is a Tunisian designer blending sustainability, craft &amp; innovation. From empowering rural women with TATAOUI to creating olive-based biomaterials at Re Workshop, her work bridges design, identity &amp; eco-conscious making. Ticket sales are managed by the instructor, and proceeds go directly to her.
